The Caper – June 2021 Edition

After a bitterly cold (and record breaking) start to the summer, we think Mother Nature is ready to get back on track. Looks as though we’ll be safely leaving those temperatures in the 50’s in the rear view mirror. Let’s sure hope so. In this month’s Caper, Jeff talks about the great job our teachers have done throughout this past year. It’s been a crazy and challenging time for them and for our students. He also talks about being mindful of the Cape and Anne Arundel County rules. Have fun but be lawful and safe. Also, if you don’t use Facebook and want updates on CSCIA, please add your email address to our website. You’ll be emailed when new things are a foot! Be sure to read Jeff’s full message, it’s outstanding.

Ryan, our Town Manager, will be celebrating his three year anniversary this month. It’s hard to describe the positive impact he has had on the daily comings and goings within the Cape. In his message, as we get ready for the 4th of July, he talks about firework safety. He also wants to remind you that our quarterly membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at 7:30pm.

In community group news, Goshen Farm is having their raffle for a chance to win 2 Daylite lifetime 8ft kayaks and paddles. The drawing will be in July. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at https://goshenfarm.org The Garden club’s virtual plant sale, that was held in May, was another success. Don’t forget to visit capegardenclub.wordpress.com to see what’s coming up in June and beyond. Cape Conservation Corps has another great article submitted by Stacey Wildberger on their recent Native Plant Swap. Check it out. Don’t forget that they meet every Wednesday @ 1037 Lake Claire Drive for their invasive weed pull. More details on their website: https://capeconservationcorps.org

We are excited to announce the 4th of July Parade and Celebration will resume this year! A float entry form and more details are in the Caper. Don’t forget that the Strawberry Festival is scheduled for August 28th. Signup form are in this month’s Caper so please make sure you review them and submit.

See you around the Cape!
