The Caper – November 2021 Edition

Fall is in full bloom finally. Summer really held out during the month of October and gave us some really spectacular weather ’round these parts. Last night, Halloween, was no exception. Capers, we really do Halloween right. It’s so amazing to see everyone out with their families, dressed up and enjoying this community. Such good times and good memories being made.

Jeff, President of CSCIA, talks about recruitment and the need to have new board members. Please be sure to submit your name and information to Jeff at [email protected] or drop it off at the CSCIA office located at 1223 River Bay Road. Ryan, the Town Manager, discusses the winterizing of the piers down at Deep Creek and Lake Claire. Work on that will begin on Monday November 22nd. Check this month’s Caper for more information on what you should do to help prepare for the coming winter season. Also, we’re happy to announce that the 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held on November 28th at the guard shack. We might have a few surprises in store for this event so stay tuned for more information!

In community news, Santa is coming to the Cape and will be at the clubhouse on Saturday December 11, 2021 between 8:30am and 10:30am. This Caper contains everything you need to get yourself signed up and visiting Santa with your amazing kiddos. Goshen Farm highlights a volunteer in this issue, Scott Powers. In Garden Club news, they are planning their Autumn Nature Walk in Brookside Gardens on Sunday November 7th to see the spectacular fall foliage. Then, for their last meeting of 2021, they will gather at Bay Head Park Pavilion for their annual Evergreen Wreath Workshop on Sunday November 29th from 2-4pm. Cape Conservation Corps is still holding their weekly Weed Warriors every Wednesday night from 5-7pm at the Serene Ravine. More details on their other events are in this month’s Caper.
